About the Album

The soundtrack album features all of the songs from various artists used in the film. Composer Jordan Balagot and Director Rebecca Louisell co-wrote the lyrics and music for the punk songs used in the movie, and recorded them with Dean Dichoso, who played guitar, bass and drums. Dichoso recorded and mixed the album at his studio, Audio Virus X. Leads Halle Charlton & Lauryn Whitney sung their own vocals in the title track Genderfreak. The soundtrack also features artists La Muff, Jordan B and Suspicious Package.

Rebecca Louisell
Rebecca Louisell is a filmmaker with a mission to make media that matters. She writes, directs and occasionally produces fiction and non-fiction film, tv and new media projects dealing with social issues of our time. LaMuff
LaMuff, based in Los Angeles, writes and performs vocal-driven music that ranges from dry-witted rap to layered, electronic pop. LaMuff's live shows border on performance art—complete with wigs, costume changes and prop-wielding backup singer/dancers—bringing out the visual and physical aspects of the music. She has also performed for years under the name "H.R. Muff'n Stuff" at the monthly Wig Out cabaret.
The artist behind LaMuff is Monica Howe, a studied vocalist, writer and designer. Her influences include old Hollywood musicals and crooners, 80s rap and new wave, and millenial bleeps and bloops. Her songs are produced by composer and sound designer Joshua Fielstra.
LaMuff released her single and video “Come on, Taste my Rainbow” in 2011, followed by the four-song EP Gold Lamé in March of 2012.

Suspicious Package
Suspicious Package is a music, video and performance collective, lead by front-women Emily Doubilet and Ashlynn Manning.
Their current project is to generate a fusion of art and environment called Bio-Pop: a celebration of biodiversity through pop entertainment. They are developing a series of original songs and high definition music videos, each focused on the unique behaviors of a specific animal. By using strategic internet distribution and featuring human-animal interactions in the context of both wilderness and urban environments, they aim to usher in a new voice in contemporary pop media that inspires people to connect with life on earth.

Dean Dichoso
Dean Dichoso (Guitar / Bass / Drums) is a record producer with extreme attention to detail. He does about 3 LPs and 3 EPs a year, while staying busy as an extremely solid multi-instrumentalist studio musician. He plays many instruments in many genres/styles and doesn’t just dabble, either. He has been passionately involved in the creative and technical side to music for 20 years. Being a professional studio-drummer, guitarist, and bassplayer, he’s been known to have been an extremely musician-friendly producer to work with, usually having learned all the parts on all the instruments of a song very well, long before pre-production starts.

Taiwo Heard
Taiwo Heard (Vocals) With influences ranging from 90's grunge to 70's R&B soul, Taiwo Heard brings his own unique stylings to the indie rock scene. After moving to Boston, he attended the Berklee College of Music majoring in Music Synthesis with a focus on voice. It was during this time that he began to listen bands such as Aphex Twin and Radiohead, while also gaining a greater appreciation for such electronic music pioneers such as Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, and Leon Theremin. Tai's current musical style suggest elements of The Rolling Stones, Bjork, and the Black Keys- heavily song driven and characterized by thought provoking lyrics. His versatile vocal stylings range from full on Steven Tyler-esque screams to quiet broken phrases accented by well placed pauses. Now, as he heads into the final stretch of recording for his solo album with a California tour planned for the Fall, this promises to be the year that Taiwo Heard's true creative vision comes to full fruition. Tai is raising money for his album, check out his Kickstarter campaign at:
